From my experience, with or without vision boards, we are always creating and manifesting.
What’s the deal with vision boards, then?
Vision boards help with awareness, and focus.
Without vision boards, we could believe whatever we experience is something that we can’t control, an outer force playing in our lives.
However, the moment what we envision shows up, it’s difficult to believe we are not active part on creating the event.
Sometimes, the event requires some action from us, others we have to do nothing beyond visualizing.
The best vision board system I have found so far is from the book The Lotus and the Lily by Janet Conner.
With Collage Vision Boards, you have to look at them, and visualize yourself living that scenes, but it’s not evident the deep changes you have to go through to make these ideas happen in your life, and also to keep them.
Moreover, to get the best outcome from a vision board you need a preparation.
The book The Lotus and The Lily offers the preparation to a great outcome with a 30-day program based on a teaching from Buddha and Jesus. The main idea behind the book is Buddha’s teaching “when conditions are sufficient there is a manifestation.”
The same idea in Jesus’ words is, “[W]hen we pursue a right relationship with the Universal One and allow this relationship to realign our lives, we produce a condition of receptivity in which anything we need to help us complete our purpose in life will be supplied by the universe.”
The focus is on creating and living the “conditions” because working on them manifest what we want and more.
How The Program Works:
The program guides you through different exercises and deep soul writing.
First week: Prepare
“Spend a week in preparation. Learning how to create life is deep; you need to prepare yourself.”
Second Week: Look back
“Look back at your life. There are gifts buried in there that you haven’t explored and don’t understand.”
Third Week: Create space
“Release and forgive. You are full of old wounds that haven’t been released, and until you release them, there is no room for the new to grow.”
Fourth Week: Look Forward
“Before you ask for anything, get clear about what you want and why you want it, so you are sure to create a life of purpose and joy.”
The program continues with the creation of a intention mandala—that serves as a vision board—with our conditions and desires, and how to work on it for the rest of the year.
In this video, Janner Conner shows the intention mandalas she has created over the years (from 0:38 to 2:23)
The Lotus and the Lily is useful as a road-map, a reminder. This program is a personal and unique process for everyone, and you can begin the process whenever you feel like.
