When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger, author of The Devil Wears Prada, is easy reading, perfect for summer as it’s light angst accompanied by Lauren compelling writing style.
This story has Emily Charlton, Miranda Priestly’s first assistant from The Devil Wears Prada, as the main character along with Karolina Hartwell, a former supermodel, and Miriam Kagan, a successful attorney turned into a stay-at-home mom.
The story is set in Greenwich, Connecticut. Through Emily, Karolina and Miriam, we get to know part of the suburban Greenwich lifestyle, and how the suburbs influence these three thirty-something women and vice-versa.
When Life Gives You Lululemons isn’t up to The Devil Wears Prada, but it’s a fun reading if that’s what you are looking for. Also, it could be a thought-provoking story with topics as self-esteem, friendship, age, beauty, career roadblocks, motherhood, and how the environment influences our decisions if we allow it, not always for good.
When Life Gives You Lululemons is nice for a summer read, after reading a heavy angst story, or if you’re going through hard times and like to submerge in an easy-light angst story to relax.
