In one month, Janet Conner went from being bankrupt to earning $12,000
Janet Conner, the author of the Lotus and the Lily, went through a terrible divorce after she caught her husband sleeping with her secretary.
She hated her soon-to-be ex-husband as he put her and their son into so much misery. She had to wear a police emergency call button around her neck.

Conner survived the divorce, became stronger with the help of a Deep Soul Writing technique that she personalized after reading about the morning pages by Julia Cameron, the author of the Artist’s Way.
Janet Conner wrote the book Writing Down Your Soul. She went from human resources-consultant to spiritual writer. However, her finances were a different story.
In Conner’s own words:
“When my book came out in early 2009, I happily traipsed around the country teaching deep soul writing. But those trips were financed on my already-burdened credit cards. By November, I had to face the reality that I was bankrupt.”
“Forty days later, I had my appointment with the bankruptcy attorney. He explained the process and asked if I had any questions. ‘One’ I said, ‘I made $12,000 in January. Is that a problem?’
‘Well, yeah, it’s a problem,’ he said. ‘You’re not bankrupt.'”

The best vision board (intention mandala) system I have found so far is from the book The Lotus and the Lily by Janet Conner.
Why?
Collage Vision Board vs Mandala Vision Board
With Collage Vision Boards, you have to look at them and visualize yourself living that scenes.
The collage vision board works. I have seen it work in my life. However, it’s messy.
Before you get the results, life can get chaotic and you aren’t crystal clear why it’s happening.
It’s not evident the deep changes you have to go through to make these ideas happen in your life, and also to keep them.
The Lotus and the lily system goes deeper than the Law of Attraction. The intention mandala focuses your attention on creating the conditions that naturally produce what you want. ‘Conditions first, manifestation second.’
The main idea behind the book is that ‘you create a beautiful life by creating fertile conditions, not by asking for anything.’
Janet Conner found this idea studying the books You Are Here by Thich Nhat Hanh and Blessings of the Cosmos by Neil Douglas-Klotz.
You don’t need to be religious for this system to work in your life. However, the process includes spiritual practices you have to be comfortable with.
The focus is on creating and living the “conditions” because working on them manifest what we want and more.
How The Program Works:
The book The Lotus and The Lily offers the preparation to a great outcome with a 30-day program based on teachings from Buddha and Jesus.
You need preparation to get the best outcome from a vision board.
The program guides you through different exercises and deep soul writing.
First week: Prepare
“Spend a week in preparation. Learning how to create life is deep; you need to prepare yourself.”
You’ll plant your intentions this week. You’ll reflect on your expectations and get ready to look into your past.
Second Week: Look back
“Look back at your life. There are gifts buried in there that you haven’t explored and don’t understand.”
You’ll look back to the good, the bad and the ugly in your past. You’ll extract the lessons learned, the wisdom gained and the blessings in disguise.
Third Week: Create space
“Release and forgive. You are full of old wounds that haven’t been released, and until you release them, there is no room for the new to grow.”
You’ll release what no longer serves your greater good. You’ll make room for the new. You’ll forgive and let go.
Fourth Week: Look Forward
“Before you ask for anything, get clear about what you want and why you want it, so you are sure to create a life of purpose and joy.”
You’ll identify your intentions, visions, dreams, and conditions for the year to come. You’ll work on trust and surrender.
You’ll create an intention mandala with your conditions at the center and your desires at the periphery. You’ll learn how to work on your intention mandala for the rest of the year.
In this video, Janet Conner shows the intention mandalas she has created over the years (from 0:38 to 2:23)
The Lotus and the Lily is your personal and unique process. Only your soul knows ‘the fertile environment it wants—needs—to create’ a life of purpose and joy.
